MYP (G6-10)

Hayah International Academy is an IB World School authorized to offer the PYP, MYP, and DP, making it a continuum school. IB World Schools are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education that Hayah believes is important for our students.

*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its four academic programs: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), the Diploma Programme, or the Career-related Programme (CP).”

The IB Middle Years Program (MYP) encourages students aged 11 to 16 to make connections between their coursework and the real world, preparing them for further study and success in life. Through a balanced yet challenging curriculum, students are offered intellectual as well as creative possibilities to develop in an active learning environment. The program follows the MYP framework and is aligned with American standards such as Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS).  Subjects taught in Arabic abide by the Ministry of Education curriculum.

Student engagement, critical thinking, and collaboration are promoted through various interdisciplinary units allowing students to transfer and synthesise their learning between multiple subjects.  The Service as Action component of the MYP provides curricular and elective service opportunities where students explore, design, implement, and reflect on their efforts to positively impact both local and global communities.

Hayah students experience a supportive school climate where they explore issues and topics of relevance to them and express their opinions through venues such as student council, and character education classes.  Students have the opportunity to reach their potential through a selection of extra curricula activities and clubs.

After finishing the MYP, students are well-prepared for further education and have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that they need to be successful in the final years of secondary school and beyond.
